Hello Friend~

Thank you…
Thank you for reading…
Thank you for following along on with Goby…

We are so thankful for you. Sharing our gratitude is what we are talking about this week! We had a great conversation about thankfulness this week on our podcast. You can listen to it here-and we would love for you to share it with a friend or two!

I think it safe to say that we all want our kids to have a thankful spirit. But we may not be sure how to foster that attitude in our kids. I have some ideas to share with you that I think will help you lead your kids to down the gratitude road!Thankful List-Print a few of these out and complete them around the dinner table. If you want your kids to be thankful they need to see you being thankful. You can model for them and they will learn the rhythm of thankfulness from you.Gratitude Reminder-Set a daily reminder on your phone and encourage your middle schoolers and high schoolers to do the same. Over time, your reminder will help you create the habit of showing gratitude. One of our teammates at Goby set hers to “show someone else gratitude today.” It may sound too simple, but what you are intentional about matters. Catch Them In the Act-When you see your kids being thankful or showing gratitude to someone else, call it out! Reward it! Tell them how great it is to see them being generous. Be watching for opportunities to recognize when they model what you are hoping they catch! Others That Serve-How you treat the folks that serve you throughout the day matters. The way you talk to the drive-thru attendant or the store clerk show your kids exactly what your attitude regarding thankfulness is. It can be frustrating and we can be stressed when it comes to lines, but when your kids are with you, embrace the opportunity to show thankfulness to those who help us along the way! Remember, behaviors are caught not taught. We can’t tell our kids to be thankful and then not act that way buying groceries! Little and big eyes are watching-so model what you value most.We are very thankful for our growing community.  It is an honor to read your comments and see how you share Goby with others. I know we can change our corners of the world with the way we treat others. Being thankful is a great way to do that!

Have a great week,Toby and the Goby Team
