I have been looking forward today for several weeks.Yes, the temps in Texas get a little cooler in the mornings and evenings. It’s not quite fall but certainly isn’t summer! But that’s not the main reason I have been looking forward to October!
This month, I get to introduce you to a few of my very favorite people in the world. This month, we will spotlight a different Slough. You will have a chance to learn a little more about my wife Mika, our daughter Bailey and her family, and our son Ross and his family. Mika, Bailey, and Ross will be featured on a weekly podcast and to our weekly blog post.
These three have unique perspectives on what living with my struggle with panic and anxiety was like. Mika will share about her experience as a young mom with little kids at the time of my diagnosis. My kids will each share what they recall about having a dad that struggled as well as their own personal experiences with mental wellness.
I promise you will hear the good and the bad. It won’t be sugar-coated or polished to be prettied up. You will hear their honest perspective-rough edges and all. I didn’t get it all right. But I know that I did my best to make God the hero of our story.
To say I am proud is an understatement. I am thankful for this season. Being able to share the journey of Goby Ministries with my wife and kids is humbling and something only God could do.
Are you wondering what to do if your spouse struggles?
Are you praying you don’t mess up your kids as a parent that struggles?
Are you struggling and don’t know if anyone gets what you are going through?
Are you wondering if God is far from you and that alone is all you will ever feel?
My friend, the month is for you.
My prayer for this month is that the work at Goby will bless you. It may be a podcast or it may be a blog post. You may see something on our social sites. But I promise you are not going to want to miss any of this experience.

And remember-
Even in the darkest night, when you feel like you are at the end of it all, you are not alone.
God is with you.
…and so are we.
Swimming With You,
Toby, Mika, Bailey, Grant, Gideon, Micah, Esther, Ross, Michelle, Evie, and June
